"I am very pleased with the QuiqMeds system. I am not sure how it works, but I will tell you there can't possibly be an easier system for the physicians or staff. The system has little or no effect on patient flow within the office and patients love the convenience it provides them."

Frequently Asked Questions

The Financials

What is my cost for the hardware?

The basic system is provided at no charge.  You pay $1,000 for the installation, delivery and setup of the system.  This includes all hardware, software, cabling and the interface of the downloaded patient database into our system.

Are there any other costs?
$240 per month covers all other costs.  This includes:
  • All software support, upgrades and maintenance
  • The QuiqMeds 24/7 support line
  • Repair and maintenance services
  • Full reordering/restocking services including warehousing, delivery, and support.
  • All supplies including forms, labels, printer ink cartridges, consumer delivery bags, etc.
  • Marketing ‘tool kit’ for your practice
  • Monthly reporting
  • Scheduled inventory review and formulary evaluation meetings
  • User newsletter and sharing of best practices
  • Planned PR and advertising campaign

Do I have to track drug co-pays for the products dispensed in my office?
No.  There is no need to track co-pays as the system does not require reimbursement.  Your fees for providing these services are built into our pricing.  Your patients will pay an amount comparable to the average co-pays that they would pay in the retail pharmacies.

What % of my current prescriptions will I be
able to fill?
Most offices typically fill at least 20% of their normal prescriptions through the QuiqMeds System

What fees can I expect to realize?
The fee per prescription that you will generate will depend in part on whether the drug is for an acute or chronic condition.  You can expect to realize between $4 and $7 for each prescription filled.

How do I price my medications?
QuiqMeds provides you with a recommended price list for your individual formulary that is consistent with local co-pays and acceptable to most of your patients.

What is my cost for a prescription?
If you have a prescription drug plan through your employer or health plan, you will find that filling your prescriptions in your doctor’s office will cost you about the same amount that your “co-pay” is at the pharmacy.

My Prescription Drug Plan does not allow me to get more than a 30 day supply from my pharmacy. I have to get 90 day supplies by Mail Order. Can I get 90 day supplies in the Office?
You can get any size prescription from you doctor in the office.  You are not restricted to 30 day supplies.  Your doctor can even give you a 6 month supply if you are going to be out of town for the entire winter.

I am a veteran. Can I get my VA prescriptions
filled here?

When your prescriptions can be filled here you do not have to make an additional trip to the VA office to get a prescription.  The costs for prescriptions filled in the office are often less than they are for VA prescriptions which cost $8 for a 30 day supply or $24 for a 90 day supply.

I have a Medicare PartD Prescription Drug Plan.  Can I still use this system?
Absolutely! 32% of all people with a Medicare Drug plan will reach the “donut hole” Coverage Gap. Did you know that whatever your plan, the full retail cost of your medication counts towards reaching that Gap?

For example, a 90 day supply of the generic equivalent of Zocor (Simvastatin), purchased at the Walgreen’s online pharmacy costs $249.  Even if you have no co-pay, your account may show that full $249 charge.

Once you do reach the coverage gap, you will be responsible for the full retail cost yourself.

A smart strategy: Fill your prescriptions here in our office whenever possible. You will avoid spending dollars that will lead to the Gap, and you can walk out with the medicine in hand - no trip to the pharmacy, and no mail order waits.

I don’t have a Prescription Drug Plan.  Can I still use this system
Your costs don’t change if you don’t have a Prescription Drug Plan.  You will pay the same for your medications as anyone else.
