"I am very pleased with the QuiqMeds system. I am not sure how it works, but I will tell you there can't possibly be an easier system for the physicians or staff. The system has little or no effect on patient flow within the office and patients love the convenience it provides them."

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the
QuiqMeds system work?

What are the components of the QuiqMeds point of care drug-delivery program?

QuiqMeds provides a full turn-key system including a secure Inventory Control Cabinet, a touch screen order entry system, all necessary computers, hardware, battery backups, cabling and wireless network components.

Furthermore, we install your downloaded patient data base into our server so that you don’t have to enter patient information yourself.

How does the automated reordering/tracking system work?
QuiqMeds monitors the inventory and transactions electronically from our central office.  We do this in real time so that you don’t ever have to worry about your inventory status.  When we see that your inventory is low, we automatically generate a refill order and send one of our QuiqMeds envoys to your office to restock your inventory.  QuiqMeds monitors and stores all transactions so that should there be a need to review past transactions, for example in the case of a specific lot# recall, we can give you immediate detailed information on your transaction history.

Do I need to spend time on collecting data?
No. All data is collected automatically as part of the system process.

Is the QuiqMeds software easy to use?
The QuiqMeds’ software is extremely intuitive and easy to use.  Most users say that it is faster and easier than writing prescriptions by hand.

How long will it take my staff to be trained?
The elegant and intuitive QuiqMeds system is designed to require very little training. What instruction is needed is handled during the installation process.

We maintain a 24/7 live person help line in the case where there is a problem or if anyone has a question as to how to use the system.

What happens in the event that there is a system malfunction?
In the event of any system malfunction, QuiqMeds has a full service 24/7 support team that can resolve your issues so that the system remains functional.  Since the system communicates to our central facilities in virtually real time, most problems will be spotted by our staff before you are aware of them.

We even monitor the paper stock in your printer and the printer ink!  If we can’t fix the problem remotely, we will send a QuiqMeds repair assistant to your office.

What patient information will I be required to enter into the system?
The QuiqMeds installation team will install the downloaded patient database into our system during the installation process.  For new patients who will require a prescription, the minimum information needed by the system is the patient's name, address and birth date.

How much time does the QuiqMeds process take?
The QuiqMeds system is very efficient.  Our physicians report that it takes less than 15 seconds to enter as many as four prescriptions for a single patient.

For the office staff, completing the transaction and delivering the medication to the patient takes less than 20 seconds.

How do I track the prescriptions?
QuiqMeds automatically tracks all of the information required by state and federal laws. You have access to a permanent written record log created at the time of the visit as well as an electronic log of all of the transactions.

Instead of the need to pull patient charts, the system can automatically produce a list of patients or contact those patients electronically by email or by telephone (depending on the information in the data base).  This is particularly useful during product recalls.

How secure is the QuiqMeds system?
The hardware is very secure.  No one in the office has access to the Inventory Control Cabinet; access to the touch screen is either controlled by password or by fingerprint identification; and the office manager interface is controlled by password protection.

The software is encrypted and secure.  We follow all HIPAA guidelines and meet or exceed all federal regulations for encryption.

What if we have more than one prescriber
in our office?

Each prescriber has a unique identifier that the system uses to track each transaction.

Can I process drug refills?
Yes. Your system will automatically track any refills that you authorize.  A simple interface allows quick processing of refills for your patients.

Am I limited to small supplies of Drugs?
No. Your doctor can provide your medication in his office at the level that he or she feels is most appropriate for your treatment.  This might be a 6-10 day supply for some medications or a 30 day, 90 day or 180 day supply of other chronic medications.  You are not limited in the way you are at a retail pharmacy.

Do I have to file any other paperwork?
No. When you receive your medications from your doctor you have nothing else to do.

Can I pickup prescriptions for other people?
No. The prescription medication that you receive is specifically provided to you. You cannot fill prescriptions for other people.

Can I pickup my refills at the office also?
Yes. You can call ahead or you can stop by at any time and the office can give you any refills that your doctor has authorized for you.
