QuiqMeds™ Expands into Florida Market

BLUE BELL, PA - March 24, 2008

QuiqMeds™, based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, a division of Quiq, Inc., has expanded operations into the South Florida markets.

Miami-based Chen Medical Associates is QuiqMeds’ most recent client. This large “At-Risk” practice has contracted with QuiqMeds to install and manage a bank of QuiqMeds Inventory Control Containers (ICC’s). The system is comprised of six delivery machines, to accommodate the required volume and a formulary of over 150 individual SKU’s. These ICC’s are interconnected to act as one system. Because there are six units, a dedicated on-site pharmacy room was constructed at their offices in Miami Lakes.

The QuiqMeds system is integrated into ChenMed’s electronic medical records system, which uses wireless tablet computers for each doctor. In addition, two QuiqMeds Drug Release Interface (DRI) touchscreen computers are mounted in the ICC room to facilitate the high-volume throughput required for this busy practice. Coupled with a dual-printer configuration (using HP color laser printers), the installation represents a new level of performance for the QuiqMeds in-house prescription service.

QuiqMeds has leased office space in Florida to enable construction of a Florida-based drug warehouse location to serve ChenMed and other clients in the Southeastern US as QuiqMeds expands into this new market location.

The client is pleased with the system and has indicated firm plans to expand into additional ChenMed sites in the near future.
