QuiqMeds™ Announces Additional Sites at ChenMed in South Florida

BLUE BELL, PA - April 2, 2009

QuiqMeds™, based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, a division of Quiq, Inc., has added two additional Chen Medical Associates sites in South Florida. The two new sites are located in Hallandale (the ChenMed Main Office) and North Miami Beach.

This large “At-Risk” practice now has three offices using the QuiqMeds system, each with a bank of six QuiqMeds Inventory Control Containers (ICC’s), to accommodate the required volume and a formulary of over 150 individual SKU’s. Because there are six units at each site, dedicated on-site pharmacy rooms were constructed at the three ChenMed offices: Miami Lakes (August 2008), Hallandale/ Main Office (December 2008) and Miami Gardens (March 2009).

The QuiqMeds system is integrated into ChenMed’s electronic medical records system, which uses wireless tablet computers for each doctor at all three sites. In addition, in each ICC room, two QuiqMeds Drug Release Interface (DRI) touchscreen computers are mounted to facilitate the high-volume throughput required for these practices. Coupled with a dual-printer configuration at each location (using HP color laser printers), these installations represent a new level of performance for the QuiqMeds in-house prescription service.
