Press Release
Inexpensive Generic Drugs Now Available With Added Convenience -
At Your Doctor’s Office

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - October 25, 2006

Discount stores aren’t the only places where consumers can now get low-cost generic drugs. With the advent of the new QuiqMeds system in the Philadelphia region, several of the area’s larger physician practices also offer competitive pricing on widely-prescribed generic drugs, with the added convenience of having the prescription filled right at the physician’s office, with no waiting and no extra drive time.

Generic drugs, typically far less expensive than their brand-name counterparts, must meet the same quality and safety standards, and be approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Even while keeping generic drug costs in check for consumers, most physicians who have introduced the QuiqMeds system to their patients have realized incremental income, and enhanced the quality of care for their patients by using the revolutionary system. This revenue stream helps to offset rising costs of billing and dwindling reimbursements.

"Convenience and patient safety are the bonuses that a QuiqMeds user has over filling the prescription at a discount department store," says Tom Behlau, Chief Operating Officer of the Plymouth Meeting, PA based Company. "At doctor’s offices that have begun using our system, patients can get a 100-day supply of their generic medication quickly, more conveniently, directly from the physician who has written the prescription, and at a great value."

The QuiqMeds Inventory Control Cabinet (ICC) in a contracting physician’s office is stocked with a customized formulary of generic drugs that are prescribed most often in that doctor’s office. What makes QuiqMeds unique is its computerized inventory control equipment that includes a locked, specially modified commercial delivery unit, from which the generic prescriptions are delivered to the patient right in the doctor’s office -within minutes of the time the prescription is keyed by the doctor into a wall-mounted touch screen.

QuiqMeds tracks the inventory and reports reorder information over the internet to the central QuiqMeds office. Customized refill inventories are then delivered and restocked in the machine by an authorized QuiqMeds’ representative.
